more specifically when i start the apk during that long list of blue text during the mem check or whatever, it only makes it to 4 imgs/icons and freezes

I'm beginning to think there is something strange about samsung devices. I'm just not sure exactly what..
I have another project going through samsung approval which has the same problem on a couple of their devices. As soon as I work out what that problem is it will be fixed :)
Anyhow the android build as not recommended as useable yet (unless you plug in a mouse) so dont use that.
